Assistance - Offering a Helping Hand

As our funds allow we also try and help guests in other ways.

We help guests get State ID’s and birth certificates, which are necessary to receive public assistance or to find a job. When we have resources, we also buy yearly bus passes for guests who demonstrate a need. We believe that providing a person with a year's worth of transportation for $60 is money well spent. We also advocate for our guests at local agencies.

Thanks to a grant from Provena Covenant, we have been able to rent and furnish an additional room from New Covenant that we can share with social service agencies so that our guests can be seen in one locale and won't have to travel all over Champaign county for services.
